The Eagle Green Story
Eagle Green Energy, Inc. (EGE) is the U.S. leader in anaerobic poultry digesters. Our patented closed loop systems convert poultry waste into pipeline quality methane. A byproduct of the process is a 100% organic solid and liquid organic fertilizer. EGE’s digesters enable producers to better manage harmful nutrient overloads, significantly reducing environmental impacts of large scale poultry operations.
The Impacts of Nutrient Overload
Record algal blooms and “dead zones,” from the Gulf of Mexico to the Chesapeake Bay, have drawn public attention to the impacts of large scale poultry operations. Chicken litter has innately high levels of nitrogen and phosphorus. If not managed appropriately, run-off from these operations can have profound effects on soil and water quality in regions with a high concentration of poultry operations. As demand for poultry continues to rise, so will the risks facing our farming communities and important water resources.
